Why do we catch the flu in winter?

It’s a recurring question for many scientists. Researchers in New York have demonstrated that the flu virus is best transmitted in cold, dry weather.

The flu virus, unlike the common cold (which is transmitted by contact), is airborne. If it’s too hot, it dies, and if it’s too humid, it drops like a drop of water.

As a result, you can catch the flu from November to March in the northern hemisphere, and from May to September in the southern hemisphere. In the tropics, on the other hand, there’s virtually no flu– too hot and too humid!
