Thanks to its expertise in travel insurance, Mondassur was interviewed by News-Assurance Magazine. Here are some valuable tips for choosing the right travel insurance for your summer vacations.

Some criteria to consider
When choosing your travel insurance, you need to take into account the destination of your trip. For example, for insurance in the USA or Australia, where medical costs are very high, travel insurance should offer better cover than insurance for Africa, a less expensive continent.
Next, you need to choose according to the duration of your trip. Some insurances can cover up to 30 days, others up to 60 days or 90 days, which is generally the maximum for temporary trips.
The purpose of the stay must also be taken into account, whether it involves tourism, trekking, a vacation where dangerous sports may be practised…
Choosing the right contract
Travellers should choose their policy according to the level of protection they require. It is advisable to take out a comprehensive policy that automatically covers medical expenses, not justrepatriation assistance. We also recommend third-party liability and baggage protection.
On the other hand, many people think they are completely protected by the travel insurance provided by their bank card. This is not always the case, as there are very restrictive conditions of application, such as having paid for your trip with your bank card. The duration of the trip, for example, is capped, and coverage is limited.
Finally, many people think they can count on their social security system to cover the cost of treatment abroad, wherever they go. However, social security reimburses medical expenses abroad on the basis of national rates. This can make a significant difference to the insured person’s out-of-pocket expenses from one country to another.
Before you leave on vacation, don’t forget travel insurance for you and your family!
