WHV Chile – Insurance

The WHV agreement between Chile and France came into force on November 1, 2015.

French nationals can apply for a 12-month visa at WHV. This visa cannot be renewed. The visa costs around €115 and takes 2 weeks to obtain. To obtain a WHV visa for Chile, you must take out insurance at WHV.

To take advantage of WHV Chile

– Be between the ages of 18 and 30 when you submit your application
– Have a valid French passport
– Have at least €2,500 in your bank account and be able to justify this
– Have not previously taken part in the Chilean working vacation program
– Fly to Chile within 90 days of obtaining your visa
– Have special international health insurance. WHV

Documents required for the file

Passport: photocopy of passport valid for the entire duration of your stay in Chile.
Form to be obtained from the Chilean embassy website, carefully completed and enclosed with your application.
– Cover letter
International health insurance: You must be able to provide proof of Chilean health insurance covering medical expenses, hospitalization and repatriation.
Extract from criminal record, less than 3 months old.
Medical certificate, attesting to your good health and that you are not a carrier of any contagious and/or infectious disease.
Photocopy of the family record book or copy of the birth certificate, to verify parents’ names.
Bank documents, you must prove that you have at least 2,500 euros at your disposal, either via a bank statement or a nominative bank certificate, or with a certificate drawn up before a notary in the case of cash.
1 recent passport-size photo (3.5 x 4.5 cm).

Application procedure for WHV Chile

1. Complete the form for the Chile working vacation program

? Please read the instructions carefully before completing each field.
? The “Type of visa requested” field does not include the Working Holiday Program. Choose “Temporary Resident”.
? In the “Reason for trip” field, enter WHV or Working Holiday Program.

2. Put together your file with the required documents

– Printed, completed and signed application form for WHV Chile
– Supporting documents as listed above
– Payment to be made on site at the Chilean Consulate at the time of collection.

3. Send your application to WHV Chile

Your application should be sent or delivered in person to the Chilean Consulate in Paris.

4. Pick up your visa WHV

Once accepted, your WHV Chile visa must be collected personally at the Chilean Consulate at the address indicated.

However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website specifies that the quota for this WHV Chile is limited to 200 places per year, probably to avoid the bottleneck seen in Australia.
