Brasilia Cathedral, an original monument

In addition to its wealth of flora and fauna, Brazil is dotted with impressive monuments of original design. Brasilia Cathedral is one such building. Situated in the heart of the capital of the country’s Federative Republic, it is built in an almost desert-like landscape. This magnificent building was designed by the famous Oscar Niemeyer. This construction is based on a round shape with a diameter of 60 m. At a certain level, its circumference tightens, then reopens. As a result, the church takes on an appearance similar to the lower part of an hourglass. 16 hyperboloid columns form the base of this holy site. They are embellished with colored glass to act as a roof. So when you step inside, you’ll be immersed in a highly spiritual setting.

Why take a stroll through Curitiba’s botanical gardens?

In the state of Paraná, there’s a place where you can spend a peaceful moment in the heart of greenery without leaving the urban environment. This is the Curitiba Botanical Garden.
