Brasilia Cathedral, an original monument

In addition to its wealth of flora and fauna, Brazil is also dotted with impressive monuments designed with originality. Brasilia Cathedral is one of them. Situated in the heart of the capital of the country’s Federative Republic, it is built in an almost desert-like landscape. The famous Oscar Niemeyer designed this magnificent edifice. The construction is based on a round shape with a 60 m diameter. At a certain level, its circumference narrows, then reopens. As a result, the church takes on an appearance similar to the lower part of an hourglass. 16 hyperboloid columns form the base of this holy place. They are embellished with colored glass to act as a roof. So when you step inside, you’ll be immersed in a highly spiritual setting.

Why take a stroll through Curitiba’s botanical gardens?

In the state of Paraná, there’s a place where you can spend a peaceful moment in the heart of greenery without leaving the urban environment. This is the Curitiba Botanical Garden. Covering an area of around 25 hectares, it’s a haven where you can discover some native vegetation as well as plants from elsewhere.
