Safety in Zambia

Incidents are relatively few, but assaults (armed robberies, burglaries, carjackings) can be violent. As a general rule, avoid moving towards the country’s borders. It is important to note that the French Embassy in Zambia has limited capacity to assist French nationals in the event of a crisis. The French are therefore urged to ensure that they have the necessary resources in the event of a crisis (check the terms of insurance contracts, make sure they have the financial means to cover any hospitalization or evacuation costs, etc.). For further information, please consult the Travel Advice section of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

Health and repatriation insurance in Zambia

Why take out international health insurance when traveling or living in Zambia? Quite simply because healthcare costs can quickly reach very high levels abroad. What’s more, Zambia’s healthcare system is still relatively inefficient, and the quality of the infrastructure is far from ideal. That’s why repatriation cover is an essential criterion. In the event of a serious accident, medical repatriation to the nearest medical center (which may be in a neighboring country) or to the country of residence may be necessary. Depending on where you are at the time of the accident, and the medical prognosis, it may be necessary to charter a helicopter or medical aircraft.

Mondassur can help you choose an international health insurance policy by helping you compare the different offers on the market. Depending on your profile, we can offer you different types of travel insurance, international student insurance and expatriate insurance.
