PVT in Russia: a real or illusory deal?
In 2009, Russia and France signed a PVT(Working Holiday Program) agreement.
The France-Russia PVT allows young people aged 18 to 30 to go on vacation to Russia, while at the same time giving them the chance to work. For Russia, the PVT visa is valid for 4 months, throughout the country, but can be extended up to a year in certain cases.
The documents required to obtain this visa are as follows:
- a valid passport
- a round-trip biller
- a French bank statement
- a medical certificate
- PVT insurance certificate
- a clean criminal record
Please note that your medical certificate must contain negative test results for HIV, leprosy, tuberculosis, syphilis, chlamydia and chancroid, and a negative result for drug addiction.
Please note that these procedures can take some time. For example, it takes 2 weeks to obtain a clean criminal record and one week for a drug test.
Once these documents have been obtained, they must be translated into Russian by a sworn translator and presented to the Russian Embassy in Paris (address: 40-50 Boulevard Lannes, 75016 Paris).
The response time to your request is 1 month from the date of submission.
Finally, it’s important to point out that to date only a few people have been authorized to visit Russia on a PVT visa.
